Happy New Year 2025!

Another year draws to a close.

I've changed the title of this blog a couple of times this year. Now it is:

Stop Wasting Time Questioning the Meaningless of Life and Instead Waste Time Enjoying It!

Which I think is a great blog title. Based on this post.

New Years Resolutions 2025

I've never been a fan of 'New Years Resolutions', you can affect change to your life whenever you want it enough.

  1. Stop wasting time questioning the meaningless of life and instead waste time enjoying it!
    • In other words, stop thoughts like - "what is the point of life!?", "what is the purpose of life!?", "why am I here!?", "why don't I kill myself!?" - going around and around in your mind. Instead, accept that life is utterly meaningless, and get on with enjoying and being happy in your meaningless life. Everything is equally meaningless. You won't be happy all the time, you need bad times to be able to appreciate the good. And don't take life so seriously - it's all a game!
  2. "You the possessors are possessed!"
    • This quote from Ursula Le Guin has been firmly in my head since I read "The Dispossessed" many years ago. I have way too many possessions. Possessions are great but they do indeed possess you. You need to care for them to an extent. Or you can bin them and they no longer burden you. I have binned so much stuff this year and will likely bin more, it is so silly. The only good possession is gold, property, knowledge and experience. In 2025 I'm not going to buy more possessions except gold. I need to dispose of more stuff!
  3. Stick to the routine.
    • I need to find a routine and stick to it.
