7 Secrets to Leading a Happy Life

*Minimal/necessary
** Except educational/music/research
  1. Keep it simple!
    • The Simple Art of Not Giving a Fudge!
    • A simple life & a simple routine
      • 2 hour rule (between food & drink)
      • Before 7pm no:
        • Mobile Phone*
        • YouTube**
        • Social media/forums
        • Unnecessary internet
  2. Keep fit! (physical & mentally)
  3. Get your work done & get stuff done!
    • No work-life balance, simply working at life!
  4. Learn to enjoy what you do (even if it is not your thing) and don't stress about it!
    • We have to work, that's adult human life, and you might as well enjoy what will be a big portion of your existence (even if what you're doing is not your thing.) Be curious. Ask questions. Try different things. And don't stress, you're not paid to get stressed about work, it's not worth it, as the saying goes:
      • If it's hard to learn to do something well, learn to be happy doing it poorly.
    • Some things are stressful (like performing "heart surgery for instance") but most things are not, and no one should stress about things not deserving of stress. Genuinely stressful things have their own reward, like a great feeling of achievement when you've successfully completed you stressful task!
  5. Spend less!
    • Spending money does not make you happy. Buying a nice sports car is just more stress. Buying more possessions is just something more to worry about. That expensive holiday will be gone in a flash (and let's be real, with most tourist magnets you'll see it better on TV without all those annoying tourists.) Spend on the important things - food, drink and health. Spend as little as possible on the rest
  6. Endeavour to improve your situation [be selfish first]
    • Yes, we will die one day, but whilst we are alive, the best we can hope to do is improve our situation. There is nothing wrong with being selfish. You need to help yourself before you can help others.
  7. Endeavour to improve the situation of others [be selfless second]
    • The greatest thing one can do is improve the situation of others. Small ways or big ways, all good! Well done!
