We know this when we are children but the knowledge has been forced out of us by the time we are adults.
Animals know this for all time - when does a dog ever "grow up" in the human sense of becoming boring and serious? A dog - not tired, scared, or hungry - always wants to play!
If we were taught this at school, people would make better choices about what they do in the future, about their career paths. They would look for some work, some career, some occupation, that is like a dance/play.
The Secret of Life is that You Are Meant to Dance.
Knowing this secret, even later in life, how can it help us?
Well, if you can't find another role (perhaps you don't want another role as much as you think), you need to accept your role in life. Once accepting of your role in life, learn to approach that role like a dance/play.
For instance, you might think your work just exists to fill you time with tremendously boring and stupid stuff - learn to dance with this, learn to play with it.
You might be at work wishing the hours away. This is the wrong approach. Learn to make work a dance. Want work time to last as long as possible * so you can enjoy the play (and also have fun getting loads of stuff done.)
*That is, not want the time to go quickly. Work the same hours, just make more out of those hours. Everyone needs balance, everyone needs to find their own "middle way" and balance work life from non-work life.
Life is essentially very silly. And you cannot beat life, so join with life, and be silly too!
