Questions! Don't Overthink - Ask Questions and Seek Answers! And Do!

I am guilty of years of overthinking about life and stuff. As I get older, I realize the meaningless of all my thinking, I realize the waste of time. Really, life is simple, we need to ask ourself questions, seek answers and do (or act on those answers.) And the 1 question you should start by asking yourself everyday is:

Q: What work shall we do today?

Q: What am I working on now?

Some of My Favourite Quotes

  • Quote 1:
    • "Life is equally meaningless for everybody in the universe. There is no meaning to life!" - Me
      • People (like me) can waste a lot of their life wondering about "the meaning of life", "the point of life", but we have leant that it is meaningless for everyone. "The best we can do is endeavor to improve our situation and the situation of others." (see the title description of this blog)
  • Quotes 2:
    • "Work is the only thing that gives substance to life." - Einstein
    • "There is only work and sloth." - Me
      • The whole work/life balance is a myth. There is only work and sloth. You always want to be working on something (when you're not sleeping) to give substance to your life. This work can be many things - working on being a great professional in your field, working on a personal project...
  • Quote 3:
    • "The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best work today." - H. Jackson
      • Or in other words - take each day one day at a time. Even if you have a big project to deliver, you can only do what work you can do today. Do todays work well and don't worry about the tomorrows.
  • Quote 4:
    • "If it's hard to learn to do something well, learn to be happy doing it poorly." - Anon
      • It is easy to stress about your work, but no need. Do things to the best of your ability, but if it's hard to learn to do something well, be happy doing it poorly. If you are an employee, it is someone elses problem if you are sh!t at your job (up to them to sack you.)
  • Quote 5:
    • "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." - Roy Batty, Blade Runner
      • Most people dream of going on great vacations - Machu Picchu, Kilimanjaro, Himalayas, Thailand, ... - but these memories will be lost in time. My parents (born in the 1930s) died recently and they had loads of photo albums of vacations they had been on, and most of the photos I threw away (memories personal to them), memories lost in time. Still, it is good to explore new places and experience new things, but it's not the be-all and end-all. Some people live perfectly happy lives and never leave their home village, and their moments will be lost in time too, just like avid travellers.
