Fill Your Life With Things That Make You Smile

Recently I returned from a holiday in Thailand. Whilst on holiday I watched no YouTube and went to no internet forums (I've already quit Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.) And I felt so much better for it. I read books, exercised, had great food and good company too. It was great.

Returning home I realized:

"I don't want to do YouTube anymore. There is so much toxic stuff on there that does nothing for you and just riles you up, makes you stressed and depressed."

But how do I approach internet forums. I realized I like sharing stuff, but the constant checking for likes and replies was getting me down. Also, to be honest, I'm not very interested in looking at other peoples stuff. So this is how I will approach internet forums from now:

"I will visit an internet forum only to share stuff. While I'm there I'll check some stuff out. If I have nothing to share I will not visit."

I want to take my career seriously. I need to work in a balanced way, be a learn-it-all, be enthusiastic and keen.

Other things in life get me down. Mostly my decrepit parents. Sounds like a bad thing to say but I kind-of wish they were dead already. My mum cannot wipe her own ass and is regularly in pain. My dad is totally losing his memory and he's always been a bit of a miserable old cunt.

Whilst feeling stressed/unhappy/depressed about them, I realized that art completely brings me out of it. If I see a beautiful doll or beautiful dakimakura, I smile. And this is why I think you should:

"Fill Your Life With Things That Make You Smile!"

Things that don't make you smile, that you can live without, you should cut out of your life.

New experiences are great because you might discover something new that makes you smile. You might discover something that makes you smile more than anything you've yet found!

Finally. When we can no longer smile, definitely it is time to go.

What Makes Me Smile
  • Being good at my job.
  • Being successful in the things I do.
  • Love dolls (but I don't want too many of them in the house as they take up a lot of space and you only have time for so many ... 10 is a good number ... over 20 is too much)!
  • Dakimakura (I love the art, makes me smile).
  • Soft toys and plushies.
  • Nice cars and (even better) driving nice cars (but the expenses don't make me smile, which is why I'll reduce my car count from 2 to 1 in the future).
  • Great music.
  • Great movies.
  • My wife (if her personality changes, this will change, and she'll be gone)!
  • Gold ("I love gold! The look of it! The smell of it! The taste of it! The texture!" - Goldmember).
Research

Whilst writing this post I came across this article which has some good headings:

  1. Exercise (even 10 minutes is enough)
  2. Sleep more — you’ll feel like you’ve won the lottery
  3. Move closer to work (or work from home)
  4. Spend time with friends and family
  5. Get outside somewhere green
  6. Help others to help yourself
  7. Practice smiling — it can alleviate pain
  8. Plan a trip — you don’t even need to take it
  9. Meditate — rewire your brain for happiness
  10. Practice gratitude to increase both happiness and life satisfaction
