Happiness is the Path!

"There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path!"

If you are not already happy with your life, you will not be happy in the future. There is no path you can take which will lead to happiness. And there is no end to the paths we take in life. The only time we are no longer on a path is when we reach the final destination (death.) So you need to be happy on the path - you need to be happy in the now!

Planning is great, still we must live one day at a time. Each day is a new day, a new story, and each new day you want to make a good story. The past is but a memory, the future hasn't happened yet, we live in the present, the eternal now.

And this leads me onto myself (as usual with this this blog as I use it as a kind of self-psychiatry.)

  • Q: How do I minimally plan my life, yet still make the best of every day!?
  • A: Routine (yes again - can I make a routine stick this time...)

"Routines can be enjoyable and fulfilling, and their health benefits may make you wonder why you did not start one earlier. A routine can help you: Manage stress more effectively: Stress can put you at higher risk for heart disease and negatively impact your overall health."

Work Day Routine (i.e. Monday to Friday)

  • 0500 Wake up and do:
    • Insanity workout, Breakfast, Shower, etcetera.
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 0800 Start work
    • Drink only water
    • Eat only fruit or nuts
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 1800 Supper
    • Social media allowed: IG > Forums > Discord > YouTube
  • 2100 Start getting ready for sleep
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 2200 Sleep
Note: We want to do Insanity 4 times a week (i.e. 1 day off) and hopefully go running at the weekend, so one day you could wake a little later. And you might need to wake up earlier if you have to leave home for work before 0730.

Sometimes I feel like  zombie, doing things for no reason, just a rabid out-of-control mindset.... Routine, save me please!

More Extreme Routine Work Day Routine (i.e. Monday to Friday) when really busy!

  • 0500 Wake up and do:
    • Insanity workout, Breakfast, Shower, etcetera.
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 0800 Start work (or earlier)
    • Drink only water
    • Eat only fruit or nuts
    • Greater than 100 minutes between refreshments (stopwatch)
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 1900 Supper
    • Social media allowed but:
      • IG (only briefly to do a post and some likes)
      • Discord (only for checking DMs)
      • No forums until the weekend
      • No YouTube until the weekend
      • Check the News
  • 2100 Start getting ready for sleep
    • Social media not allowed!
  • 2200 Sleep
