You're Never Going to be Rich Whilst you Do These 3 Things!

1) You're never going to be rich if you're an employee. The super rich are most often entrepreneurs, they have their own business, their own streams of income, they earn money whilst they sleep. Of course, if you have some super special talent (like sports star, film actor, pop musician) then yes, that would make you super rich (but are you really an employee, or is your talent like a business opportunity...) Yes, you can earn a very comfortable salary as an employee, and perhaps that is enough for you, which is perfectly fine. Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, not everyone has it in them to be an entrepreneur, and that is perfectly fine too.

2) You're never going to be rich if you view work as work and play as play. Many of the super rich have got where they've got by being super dedicated to their business/plan/idea. Yes, a healthy life balance is incredibly important, but to super successful people, work and play are the same thing – it's all life!

3) You're never going to be rich if it's not want you really want. A lot of people talk about wanting to be rich, but they don't really want it, they don't really care that much, they are quite happy with their existence, it just would be a 'nice-thing-to-have' to be rich. And this is totally fine! If this is your situation (it is for most), realistically, your only avenue to wealth is some kind of good luck, like winning the lottery or a competition, and whilst the odds are low on achieving wealth this way, it's perfectly fine to play this game and live in hope.

Note from the author: I'm unlikely ever to be rich, but you never know. I have no great business ideas in me - I am an employee (1)! Also, I'm not desperate about being rich, it would be nice, but I'm not going to sell my soul to be rich (3)! The only thing I can do - and by itself it's unlikely to make me rich - is to treat work and play as the same thing - it's all life (2)!

Really, for most people, all you can do is treat work and play as the same thing - life - and allow a little of your salary (a sensible amount) to go on the lottery or similar.
