Summing It All Up

Summing up the last 6 posts:

1) You're only free when you die. You need to operate and be successful within the system you find yourself.

2) I am in competition with no one. I run my own race. I have no desire to play that game of being better than anyone. I just aim to improve, to be better than I was before.

3) Dopamine detox one day a week (Sunday). Embrace boredom!

NO Phone (except calling loved ones as necessary).
NO Computer (you can do work).
NO Emails.
NO Internet (i.e. YouTube, Facebook, News...)
NO Music.
NO Porn & Masturbation.
NO Junk Food (no comfort food between meals - only water between meals).
YES: Walk & Exercise.
YES: Meditate & Reflect.
YES: Personal development.

Any of the NO's are okay outside of the dopamine detox day. Aim to keep to a minimum. As below - you want to get dopamine from things that benefit your long term goals!

4) Q: Where are you going to get your dopamine from - things that don't benefit you or working on your long term goals?

5) I don't work for the 9 to 5. I work for knowledge not for money. I'm hungry for knowledge 24 hours a day. I work to get things done today and not put them off to tomorrow.

6) Financial rules:
i: Live below your means.
ii: Get out (and stay out) of debt
iii: Have a fully funded emergency fund of 3 months.
iv: Pay off the mortgage early.

7) Remember: instant gratification is fun - but delayed gratification is so much better. Today’s sacrifices set you up for tomorrow’s success.

8) People who are afraid of losing their jobs, they generally lose their jobs. I'm not afraid (of losing my job).

9) A poor person with a poor personal economy, all they are going to see is a bad economy. With a rich personal economy you're always going to see a good economy.
